Saturday, MT - Day 6 called for 6 miles of which I was supposed to run with marathon man, Byron. It was going to be a hot, muggy day so we planned to meet at 6:30 a.m. Well I ended up snoozing one too many times and bailed on him :(
We ended up working on Alden for about 7.5 hours yesterday so I was beat and didn't end up running at all. I know, I know, excuses are the nails that build the house of failure.
Today, MT - day 7 calls for cross training but I figured painting/scrubbing floors/taking boxes up and down stairs/hauling trash out/etc. could count as cross training and I would make my run up today, which I have :)
Headed out the door around 7:20 and ran through the beautiful streets of southside Lansing. This brings me to a new series of this blog, Welcome to the Southside. This is where I will document all the fab finds I encounter during my runs. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a huge fan of this side of town hence the whole moving out of it. However, I do not think it is nearly as bad as so many southside foreigners attest to it being. This is just me poking a little fun and of course cracking myself up.
Today, the topic is shopping carts. How many random, misplaced shopping carts can one encounter during a 6 mile run? One you say...

This one was my favorite because it was neatly tossed in between a church and the Salvation Army.
Two?
Never know when you may need one at the bank.
Three?
This one might not count, because it technically was still in a parking lot.
THREE SHOPPING CARTS. WTH?!?!?
Todays' run was good. Started feeling pretty tired once I hit the 4 mile mark but I made it.
I think my longer runs will generally stay about the 10:00 minute mark, hopefully once the miles increase they won't get much slower but we shall see!
Run on friends.
